Pastor Tony Pearson was born and reared in West Philadelphia, but he always felt different-set apart. He ran with the crowd, but that was not God's calling on his life. Having been introduced to the things of God and to prayer by his mother, Mary Frances Pearson, Tony accepted the Lord as his personal Savior in 1970 at the age of 16. From watching his father, James Pearson, Tony developed a strong work ethic.
Pastor Tony has faithfully served the First Church of Love, Faith and Deliverance and Overseer Rosie Wallace as he has been under her leadership for over 31 years. He served in various areas of ministry including the Usher Board, Chairman of the Deacon Board, President of the Men's Fellowship, the Evangelism Ministry, the Youth Ministry- whatever his hands found to do he has done it with a servants heart and as unto the Lord. He goes in the strength of the Lord and he knows that God is his greatest source. Prior to joining First Church, Pastor Tony served under the leadership of the late Pastor Benjamin Smith.
Pastor Tony is a very humble man, anointed and appointed. He has a great love for the ministry of prayer and loves the prayer altar. He knows the worth of prayer and the power of prayer. He truly loves God and loves people.
Pastor Tony also knows the pain of loss, as he and his wife lost their daughter (then their only child) in 1989 at 6 years old. He has learned that God is the sustainer and a present help in the time of trouble. He was able to lean on the Word of God as one of his favorite scriptures is Isaiah 26:3- Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusted in thee.
The Lord has tremendously blessed Pastor Tony's family. He was able to retier from VERIZON at the age of 52 after 28 years of service. He has been married to the lovely First Lady, Delphine Pearson for 32 wonderful years and is the proud father of 3 sons: Tony Jr., James, and Nathan Pearson.
